About Me
Biography
Tania Ghandour is a sophomore from Baltimore, MD and is currently a Nutritional Science Major and Vocal Performance Minor. Her artistic interests consist of music, specifically voice, theatre, and dance, as well as piano. She has participated in all of her school’s productions, some choral and dance concerts, and classical vocal recitals. She loves to share her music with others as a form of therapy, or expression on the stage. By participating in a significant number of musicals and plays, Tania has gained perspective on the idea of time by realizing how it has influenced society over each decade, and how the arts can pause time to provide relief or address an issue. She is also interested in the concept of music therapy and the effect that music has on others as it unites individuals in celebration and grief. Furthermore, Tania has a love for languages as a result of her Lebanese heritage that she also views as a form art and expression.
Through the College Park Arts Scholar program, Tania strives to share her interests with her peers, and especially looks forward to learning about the different forms of art she has not yet experimented with. She aspires to keep an open mind in order to build new skills. Tania is excited to meet guest artists to gather information on how to sustain artistic activities in the future if her career does not directly involve the arts. She appreciates the sense of community that this program presents, and hopes that her peers may join her in extracurricular clubs including acapella and theatre groups.
Currently, Tania is the assistant music director of the UMD DaCadence Acapella group, the vice president of the Dabke club, a traditional Lebanese dance, and she is the Arts Scholars Advisory Board sophomore representative. She also participates in the University Chorale as a part of her minor.
